The things they say!

In the shower, aged nearly 8.. Will says as casually as ever ‘Dad I just smelled my doodle and it smells like pasta’. Bahahahaha.

Don’t want this to stop…

I just dropped William off at school on a beautiful spring morning. I got out and it was the kiss and drop spot – this was such a beautiful moment …I gave William big hugs and then as he ran up to the school gate he turned around at least 10 times and we waved every single time. I know it will change soon but most of the time He turn around enthusiastically blew me a kiss through the air. A moment I will cherish and remember forever.

Toby wants a dirt bike!

With only a few months until Toby turns five, he is constantly reminding us that he is now 4 3/4. His latest thing, is for him to get a dirt bike like his cousins Angus and Callum for his birthday!! We made a quick FaceTime call to auntie Jo, and asked her how old Angus was when he got his first dirtbike, that was a mistake! Auntie Jo and Angus told us that he was 2 1/2 with her speed limiter and training wheels on his first dirtbike. Toby of course thought this was fantastic. I assured Toby that he would not be getting a dirtbike any time in the near future. We had some lovely time together this afternoon on our own which is quite rare. Cassidy couldn’t pick up the boys this afternoon so Aunty Son helped us out by picking Toby up from kindy.

Tobes and Daddy played some baseball in the backyard today! Fun! After we got home from picking up Will and Jack we all played a range of ball games…fun!

Will learning about the eye!!

Today William came home from school with a beautiful diagram of the eye, he had carefully and accurately listed all parts of the eye including the retina, Iris, people, lens and the pathway of nerves to the brain… I was really quite impressed. At the dinner table tonight I got out a new rose light torch and was able to show the two older boys what happens to the people when shine a light in there and Howard constricts and delights. They were fascinated!

Camping out…at home

Tonight….for the first time ever I am out in the camper trailer with Will and Tobes. It’s winter but the aircon has made it toasty inside. So much so that I’ve turned the aircon off!! It’s raining, and the sound of the rain on the roof is soothing. Good night.

Jack has his tonsils out 😳

Well Jacky boo boo went under the hands of Dr Megan Hobson once again for replacement of grommets and tonsillectomy last Thursday 18th June.

He went well before schmoozing all the staff and post op wake up was gentle and he was calm.

Since this time it has certainly been up and down with pain and irritability.. poor darlin.. I never realised how long and horrible the recovery is! I don’t remember that from my surgery many years ago…

Let’s hope once recovered it was the beat decision for him for them to be gone!! You are being very brave our little treasure..

Toby to Jack

Toby has been referring to Jack these last few days as ‘boy my and saying ‘here boy, good boy…yeah!’. He’s the best ‘dog’ he’s ever had :).

Meanwhile Will is going through a phase of wanting to be called ‘Billy’. Hehe.

Will’s homework…

Part of Will’s homework this week is to Draw and write about his favourite book. I was immensely proud when he really sat down and concentrated very well on his favourite book titled good night sleep tight. Here are some pictures of the work that he did so enthusiastically and with great pride. Admittedly I did help a little bit but mostly it was his work. He is growing up way too fast and developing in all the right ways. He’s a so very loved.

Home schooling day 3

Again we started with a ride!

Then home for some work! Somehow we deleted the program so it was restored and off we went, we have spaced out the work a little easier today and had plenty of downtime outside in between..

Toby has done some dot to dots and now abc play to follow some instruction. He and Jack did a 5min workout that was posted from daycare this morning and also listened to Miss Robyn read The Gruffalo!!

Will is currently working on odd and even numbers.. and doing very well! He gets it and so that makes life much easier..

I feel more settled about it all today as I don’t have to run off to work and so time pressures are not so bad.. I’ve also left some literacy for dad to work on with him this afternoon…
